These artworks are before and after of the Watercolor Academy course. I decided to pick a painting that I was proud of at the time, but then after the watercolor course, I realized, I can do better.

Before taking this course my watercolor skills felt frustrating. I couldn't create what I was striving for. It was frustrating unable to accomplish what I was wanting to. But I love watercolor and really wanted to learn how to properly use it. I knew it was my lack of skill and knowledge.

I now know that i was treating watercolor like a marker. I was definitely not using it correctly. I couldn't believe the things I was learning. Everything about my watercolors changed. Everything from techniques, how I choose paper, how I choose references, how I choose my color pallets and so much more. I learned how to control my flow of water, how to blend colors together, how to apply a smooth wash, and more. It's seriously so eye opening to the reasons why my paintings did not turn out so good. Before the class I was making so many mistakes. I still need a lot of practice, but I feel very confident painting commission work again. And I am very grateful to be able to express myself in the way I want.

This new knowledge has helped me strive towards making art my full-time job. My confidence has grown and I now have a basis to grow off of.

I would 100% recommend this course to anyone wanting to improve watercolor skills. This course brings so much knowledge to the table. I also love the homework assignments and feel like a lot of online courses don't do this. And they should. It helps you to put into practice what you just learned.
