I am a teacher at a secondary school. I am fascinated with the old masters' art. Though I have two art degrees, I consider them useless when it comes to a proper drawing and painting curriculum. When I compare my art college curriculum with those at Old Masters Academy and Life Drawing Academy, I understand how little I've learned about professional art while getting my degrees. The way I am taught figurative drawing in the Life Drawing Academy and oil painting in the Old Masters Academy correspondence courses, stands head and shoulders above anything I've seen before. I am trying to learn a lot as fast as I can now, after investing so much time and money into formal training.

With two art degrees, I've never heard of 15 principles of composition in art, nor did I know how to use Golden Proportions and rules of constructive drawing. Vladimir London, who teaches me at Life Drawing Academy and Natalie Richy, who is coaching me at the Old Masters Academy course, make it so easy to follow new lessons and tasks. They are the best art teachers I've ever had.

Just to give you one example, the topic of drawing in perspective was always difficult for me. That was before I had a few lessons on perspective at Life Drawing Academy. Perspective is not he only thing that I had wrong all the time before the drawing course. I was shocked that the way I used to sharpen and hold a pencil wasn't correct! How could I teach my students proper drawing techniques if I was the one who needed relearning everything from scratch?

After a watercolor workshop I had last year, I decided to try my skills in this medium. I didn't imagine that so "basic" medium would be so difficult to master. Ironically, I've done very little watercolor art in my life (despite the art degrees) and hours of failing and frustration got me thinking that I need help from professional teachers, those who know the secrets of trade inside-out and could show me how to paint in watercolor the right way. The timing was perfect, Vladimir announced to his students that a new course is coming - Watercolor Academy and I wanted it badly straight away.

I want and need to overcome my weakness in watercolor painting and this course is a perfect solution. Watercolor Academy delivers much more than it promises. The knowledge I'm getting in the correspondence course is on another level. I know that after completing all 100 painting tasks i will be proud of my painting skills and could show my watercolor artworks to my students as a good example to follow. I look forward to further challenges to myself and becoming a better artist and better teacher.
