I begin painting as a young woman. I started in oils. However, at the time I had four small children, and they all took Joy in sticking their fingers in paintings that I was waiting to dry. After a short, while, I realized that oil painting was not going to be possible with four young children.

I had an opportunity to attend and watercolor demonstration at a local art center. Needless to say, I was "hooked" after that demonstration. I began watercolors on my own and ran into many obstacles. Most problems revolved around mixing of colors and obtaining the look that I wanted in my paintings.

I managed to put some money together and began by taking some classes and watercolor at our local art center. Since that time I have had the opportunity to do many classes, not only at our local center, but traveling to other parts of the country and even internationally to study. All of this took place over 25 years. As my children grew I had more time to devote more study, and time to paint.

It has been a long and rewarding journey. I still continue to paint, and I have had the opportunity to sell quite a few of my paintings locally. It has been a wonderful hobby and has opened my world to many new friends and exciting journeys.
