As a little girl growing up in a small town in Northern New Brunswick, Canada I dreamed of becoming an artist/designer and loved doodling, painting, and drawing! It was fun to explore, come up with ideas, and escape when feeling anxious or down!

Between 2013 - 2017 was a period of significant personal loss with the death of my parents and two of my closest friends! Yet they were years of growth and rediscovery! One gloomy Sunday afternoon I put paint brush to paper after being away from it more than 50 years!! What started as a hobby has now turned into a passion to create beauty through art! What inspires me are people, their stories, their passions, and how I can tell stories through my art! Painting is very meditative and friends and family know how important painting has been to me in terms of my mental health.

My style is somewhat loose and what I want to develop in my work is to be more detailed, and have a better focus on composition. As well, I gravitate toward florals and really want to expand my repertoire into portraiture, landscapes, street scenes, nature, etc.

I love the Drawing Academy and was a recipient of the course competition in February, 2020 just as the pandemic hit and it has helped me immensely technically and now I am hoping the same for the Watercolor Academy!
