I would love to learn how to make watercolours
Story and artwork from Natalie
My name is Natalie. I have always had a fascination with abstract and controversial art topics. I have always loved drawing and painting from a really young age and has always been a form of expression for me and a way to escape from the real world to one of my own design. I mostly use pencils and digital but I also do a lot of painting, textiles and watercolour.
Something that really challenges me is faces and proportions when I'm drawing people, hands also are the bane of my existence but I think that is the most common issue. Muscles are also really annoying as it always makes people look like the michelin man. Another thing which is a challenge in itself is to keep to the same style, my god it is like my hand chooses how I'm going to draw by throwing a dart, blindfolded whilst riding on the back of a horse; it is very interesting.
I would really love to learn how to make my watercolour pieces actually look good and not be too blotchy. Also, I would love to learn more skills to do with watercolour for my own enjoyment.
I quite like the idea that the Watercolor Academy is giving away a free course. It would be absolutely incredible if I could win because I've never been apart of a course on something I've always had a passion for, not to mention I could say that I've been to an actual art academy (yay for bragging!) But it would actually mean the whole world to me if I actually won. I know that it is very unlikely and I have more chance of getting struck by lightning twice, but a girl can dream. I really hope I do win so I have a bit of a chance of being good at at a medium that isn't pencils.
I would see it as an absolute win if just one person voted for me and I really hope that at least one person likes my art because that is all that matters in the end.
Thanks for reading and giving me a chance, I hope you have a nice day
