I am very serious about my art

My artist name is Sasha Wilson. I am very serious about my art and I am very driven to improve my watercolor painting skills.

As a young child you could find me drawing or painting or doing some creative things. I studied art at school, but I never got the chance to go to a good art academy. I have never been able to follow my true heart's desire, but the desire was never gone out of my mind. Art is my healing process from the wounds of life, for me it is the only way to feel good about who I am. It is the only way for me to have peace in my inner life. Art is for me the only way to survive because there is nothing else that gives me comfort in long and lonely days. It is my reason for living, to enjoy and celebrate every day, the reason to get up in the morning and be thankful for what I still can. It seems to be my happy place.

I'm a self taught artist. I need to start from the very beginning of drawing for it all to come into place. Being self taught, I gravitate to draw images that I like only, in doing this I'm not developing proper skills needed. I would sketch and draw subject matter that would give me strength to survive and keep my mind off things.
