The Stone Mill Pond
Watercolor artwork and story by Dean Eisen
My name is Dean Eisen and I am 71 years old. I live in Texas with my wife of 43 years. We are both retired and I'm disabled due to spinal cord injury.
I have been painting for about 18 months. I picked up watercolor to combat boredom during the Covid shutdown.
During my childhood I painted in oil, but had not picked up a brush in over 40 years. Since starting to watercolor I have made it a mission to constantly improve my skills. Due to my spinal cord injury painting can be a struggle. Having the opportunity to learn through the Watercolor Academy would be a blessing.
I paint daily and am basically self taught. A couple times a year I do a challenge where I complete on small painting a day for 30 days.
To win a scholarship to the Watercolor Academy would be a dream come true. I am a senior citizen with limited income and cannot afford the tuition fee.
The Painting I'm entering in the contest is an 11x14 image of mill made of stone and is my most current work. It is located in Lancaster County Pennsylvania.
