Watercolor and story by Nelly R. Tobón
My name is Nelly R. Tobón, I´m an artist and art educator from México city. Art is my whole life, I dedicate myself to it not only as a creator, but as a teacher and researcher, since I combine my time to create with my time to teach. My main interests are the work with the human figure but especially the portrait, where I investigate and explore human nature, especially the feminine.
I would very much like to learn more in depth traditional watercolor techniques, as well as anatomy and techniques for the representation of the human figure.
The Watercolor Academy seems to me a unique space, which offers quality education and I have always wanted to have the opportunity to access its academic training.
I am interested in winning the course to deepen my knowledge about watercolor, and explore new possibilities of creation and expression.
As a Mexican artist, I see many limitations when it comes to finding excellent options to have a truly professional preparation in the field of watercolor, since there are few options in my country. If I win the scholarship, I will be able to create with greater freedom several of the projects that I have in mind and that I hope to materialize soon.
I want to win this Competition and I need your help!
