The Big Splash

My name is Charles "Chuck: Gilliam. I have worked as an artist/illustrator most of my life. I find a great deal of expression through my paintings. My greatest challenge is in what way can I better myself as an artist. I have studied the Renaissance masters, the Impressions masters, plus many others to help me build my artist skills. I am always striving to get better with my painting mediums.

I am presently working in watercolor and want very much to build on my abilities using watercolor. I believe the Watercolor Academy would help me to grow in that medium. At this time with the present economy and living on a fixed income, winning the Watercolor Academy course would help me to accomplish my desire to become better with watercolor.

I sincerely hope that people can see in my submission an individual who can be helped to grow in his abilities as an artist and in his abilities using watercolor paints.

The painting I am submitting for the competition is called "The Big Splash." I show a black mustang running through the water, feeling the water splashing over his hide. He appears to be thoroughly enjoying the moment. I hope everyone viewing my painting feels that joy also.
