The universe in watercolor
Watercolor artwork and story by Mitzi Speranzella
I was inspired by my 4th grade art teacher. She taught us with severarl mediums and I was hooked. I became a self taught artist, mainly with pencil and charcoal. I've used acrylics, pastels, but was afraid of watercolor. I was gifted a set and put it aside for a couple of years. In fact, I've put aside art in that respect and my focus has been to work, as my husband was criticaly ill. Thank goodness his health has return and he has now gone back to work.
I recently got the email about the Watercolor Academy contest. Currently, on a very fixed income, I got the paper from the printshop where I work. I got my brushes from storage and got on my phone to search for some instruction. I found artincontext.org. I took a snow day/ vacation day to work on my watercolor techniques using the website I mentioned. The following is what resulted.
