I want to push my skills and creativity

I used to draw and paint as a child. I attended a short art course for children, but I have never had any formal art education. I've always found it challenging to be able to draw human faces and figures. I've never been able to draw from my imagination. It seems, I always need some picture reference to copy from to complete some of my ideas. Right now I enjoy drawing different objects from life and trying to create simple still life compositions. I've always wanted to draw and paint animals and landscapes as well. My favorite style of art is realism. I really like historical and mythological themes in paintings. My favorite artists are Ilya Repin, Viktor Vasnetsov, John William Waterhouse and of course Leonardo da Vinci.

I used to make a lot of my own art but have been blocked for many years and need a new challenge. About 10 years ago I started making art again but it was more of a art therapy and visionary experience with less emphasis on skill. But now I am just a happy person with no big feeling to express so it has been hard to make art the way I used to.

Taking the Watercolor Academy course would be a great help that will push my skills and creativity to a new level. That is why I want to get this course.
