I'm Dipto Dev Nath , a self-taught visual artist from Bangladesh, walking a path carved out of curiosity, struggle, and an intense love for storytelling through color. Art for me isn't a hobby—it's a lifeline. It's the one space where I feel honest, alive, and weightless. Every line I draw, every hue I choose, is a piece of my voice when I find it hard to speak out loud.
Art came into my life as a safe space—a personal world that helped me cope with anxiety, isolation, and recent struggles with addiction recovery. I recently quit weed after being heavily dependent on it for months. That decision shook my routine and focus, but art helped me begin rebuilding myself. I'm now living every day with intention, trying to align discipline with creativity.
Watercolor, in particular, fascinates me because it reflects imperfection beautifully. The way colors bleed and blend without rigid control mirrors life itself. But watercolor also challenges me the most. I often feel stuck—lacking the formal knowledge of layering, composition, and technique that could really elevate my work. That's what I want to learn next: the control within chaos, the balance of planning and letting go.
I've followed Watercolor Academy's work for a while now and I deeply respect its philosophy of guiding emerging artists with solid, foundational knowledge and emotional insight. I want to win the Watercolor Academy course because I can't currently afford formal training, yet I am ready—mentally and emotionally—to grow. I want to learn, practice, and eventually help others through art, just as it helped me.
I hope people vote for me not because I have the most polished portfolio, but because I have heart, hunger, and a story still being written—one brushstroke at a time.I want to win this Competition and I need your help!
