Wings of a New Day

I am a UK-based artist with a deep passion for bringing beauty to life through colour and intricate detail. I am a self taught painter, with years dedicated to studying and practising the fine techniques of Indian miniature art—drawn to its precision, discipline and vibrancy. While watercolour is a newer medium for me, Wings of a New Day represents a significant step in my artistic growth, combining delicate florals and the wings of a butterfly beneath an open blue sky.
This piece reflects both my love for nature and my willingness to challenge myself creatively. Adapting from the highly controlled world of miniature painting to the fluid, unpredictable nature of watercolour hasn't been easy. I am learning how to create soft gradients, manage water flow and blend translucent layers—all while staying true to the fine detail I value. I am especially keen to strengthen my skills in skies, botanicals and expressive compositions that merge technical detail with emotional resonance.
For me, art is more than a pastime—it is a personal sanctuary and a future I am actively building toward. I dream of turning this lifelong passion into a professional career, where I can continue evolving and inspire others through my work.
I believe the Watercolor Academy course would provide the expert guidance, structure and mentorship I have never had access to as a self-taught artist. It would help me overcome current challenges and expand into new areas like portraits and abstraction with confidence.
People should vote for me because I bring a unique blend of tradition, self-motivation and vision. Wings of a New Day is more than a painting—it is a quiet beginning. With the Academy's support, I hope to keep growing and creating work that speaks to both beauty and possibility.
Thank you
