A Sea of Possibilities

My name is Luciana Aguzzoli. 7 years ago I bought a small watercolour pallet and played around with it, but I was intimidated by how complex it is and by all the blooms that kept appearing on my work, so I stopped.

Fast forward to this winter, to avoid the winter blues I decided to enroll in as many crafty and fun activities as I could, and watercolour was one of them. I saw an advertisement for an online free watercolour workshop and I immediately enrolled.

This time, my love for it was almost instant! I've been painting since January 2026 and just recently joined a painting retreat in Italy with the amazing Julia Barminova! I love the sea and being able to paint it in watercolour is like a dream come true!

I've been trying to learn as much as possible with free online resources and with books from the library.

I currently have two challenges: having more predictable results and developing a personal style. I know both will come with practice, and I belive learning the different techniques and their possibilities is the first step.

I've been mostly focused on painting the sea, but I know that expanding my knowledge will help me to paint better seascapes scenes.

Being so new to this vast world of possibilities, my goal right now is to learn as much as I can about different techniques with different masters. This way, in time, I hope to develop my own style.

I belive that the Watercolor Academy can give me the foundation and techniques that will shape my future in watercolour.
