Hi, I am Anastasiia and I am an artist with a simple story.

I am from Florida, USA. I live with my beloved family, raising a small garden in my front yard, taking photographs of wildlife, and learning how to express the beauty of nature through other mediums such as watercolor, oil painting, and drawing with graphite.

Doing and studying arts is my lifelong passion. I mostly self-study at home. I love going outdoors and doing plein air painting too.

My biggest challenge in art is drawing and painting people. I mostly avoid it in my artworks. But the painting below was a commission from a great friend of mine, and I actually spent a lot of time drawing people's figures for it.

I noticed that I had a problem in positioning them in the space of the painting and drawing the right perspective. I really would love to learn about how to draw and paint people, animals, and landscapes in watercolor. Also I would like to learn how to compose paintings and draw in perspective.

I love the advices from Watercolor Academy! It is an excellent source of inspiration and knowledgeable support for me.

I am so happy to participate in this competition, and I really hope to win this course because I have a strong belief that this is my chance to excel in watercolor and arts and reach my dream of becoming a better artist.

If my artwork will resonate with people's hearts, I think they will vote for it. And that is the goal, to send the message about our beautiful world and hope it will evoke warm feelings in someone.

It was created purely out of my imagination. I used historical pictures and photographs from museums and archives to study Indian culture, traditional costumes, etc., and then I put together this composition based on my knowledge about Native Americans' past culture.
